My guest today:
Justin is a former college and professional athlete, two time cancer survivor, winner of the Jimmy V courage award, a coach under Brendon Burchard’s Growth Coaching Program, a current life coach, and entrepreneur.
When I first met Justin, I was facing a crossroads in my business and in my life. I was ready to take my audience from divorce to what's possible after divorce, but I wasn't sure how. And in my personal life, I was ready to move in with my fiancé, four years after leaving a really crappy marriage of 18 years, and I was a little nervous. I mean, I had done the work, I had really dug into my spirituality, felt the pain, writhed in it, actually, and wasn't sure how I was going to come out the other end. When my divorce came through last October, I was moved by how much I just didn't care anymore. It was weird - the thing I had wanted for so long had finally happened and I was just ... over it, I guess. Anyway, Justin came into my life when I was really going a little crazy with all the overwhelm that was coming. This was right before the virus happened.
Why we should always have a coach
Justin is a high performance coach and he was working under Brendon Burchard, the high performance coach to Oprah Winfrey. Seriously...I was so blessed to be able to hire someone like Justin. My business was doing really well but I needed to shift and it was hard. I was so attached to helping women who were struggling to break free of narcissistic relationships, but it was time to move on. I'm heavily attached to listening to my intuition and I was hearing the call to move onto something with more depth for this audience of amazing women: and spirituality and mindset was playing a huge part in it. Justin helped me see where my greater gifts lie and he reminded me who I was and what I was all about. It's hard to see through it when you're in it, it's why I always have a coach in my life, sometimes they overlap because they're for different things, but I always have a coach now. I realized it was because I am human and left to my own devices, I procrastinate, I sometimes listen to the voice that reminds me of the times I've failed (and this voice isn't exactly the one reminding me of all the times that I really succeeded (more times than I've failed for sure)). So this is where my coach comes in. He also keeps me accountable to what I'm saying I'm going to do. It's hard to not keep up when I know that my high performance coach is holding me to a standard that I should be holding myself to. I've worked at this, though, so I'm pretty good at setting goals and attaining them. He is passionate about bringing the best out of me, and I'm super grateful for it.
What are the things to pay attention to?
In this episode, Justin walks us through what his pillars of success are (my words). They're all about energy, and productivity, clarity, and he talks about time travel (you're going to love that one), strength and mental toughness, and a love for your self. He goes into great detail about how to view these and then gives us tools to start using them in our businesses and in our lives. He's soooooo darn good at what he does, and he gives us so much in this interview, you're going to want to listen to it again.
